Blob Wars: Metal Blob Solid

Blob Wars: Metal Blob Solid is a platform shooter game that brings back nostalgia of the old Duke Nukem games - except this time you are a blob.

The company claims that it makes commercial quality open source games, and I would say this one is mostly there. The gameplay is good, it is really easy to get into and play. The graphics are pretty sub-par for a modern game, but we don't really care about graphics anyway.

There were a few problems, namely that the sound didn't work and that we had to compile from source to play it. There is no Windows version oddly enough, however there are versions for a variety of other platforms. One odd thing is that if you pick up a new weapon, it replaces your old weapon. Maybe there is a way to switch weapons, but it is not easily discoverable.

All-in-all, this is a fun one and recommended to anybody who likes an old-school platform game.
